In this special first post on the Training & Events topic, we provide some dates and events that are associated with the official release of the bayesvl R package, a cornerstone in the development of the SM3D system. For the creators of bayesvl and the SM3D portal members, the event is memorable and has pushed AISDL to an inflection point for its subsequent development.

Official approval:
2019/6/10: R Documentation produced by the R Core Team: https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/bayesvl/versions/0.8.5
2019/5/28: The ‘bayesvl’ package v0.8.5 has been produced for the R language in all major operating systems (namely, Windows, Mac OS, Unix, Linux)
2019/5/24: The R Core Team officially approved the release of the bayesvl v0.8.5 on The Comprehensive R Archive Network as a verified contributed package. The CRAN page of the bayevl package: https://cran.r-project.org/package=bayesvl
Submissions and revisions:
2019/5/22: Fourth and fifth revisions submitted: bayesvl v0.8.4 and bayesvl v0.8.5.
2019/5/20: Third revised submission to CRAN. The bayesvl v0.8.3 passed tech tests at 9:15 PM.
2019/5/20: Second revised submission to CRAN. bayesvl v0.8.2 passed tech tests at 6.15 PM.
2019/5/19: First revised submission of the bayesvl R package to CRAN, addressing first review comments. The bayesvl package v0.8.1 passed tech tests at 7.40 PM.
2019/5/18: The first-ever submission of the bayesvl R package to CRAN. First submission: tech pretest failed at 2.30 PM. Second submission (v0.8.0): tech pretest passed at 3.30 PM.
Preparatory steps:
2019/5/17: bayesvl v0.8.1 (User guide uploaded)
2019/5/15: bayesvl v0.7.6 (fixing warning messages)
2019/5/13: bayesvl v0.7.5 (adding help texts)
2019/5/12: bayesvl v0.7.2 (rewriting some supplemental functions)
2019/5/10: bayesvl v0.7.1 (integrating model 4 STEM #1)
2019/5/8: bayesvl v0.7.0 (fixing bugs with varying intercepts found during the performing of the Lie_Viol model for Vietnamese folktales)
2019/5/6: bayesvl v0.6.9 (successfully adding “generated quantities” for controlling for specific varying intercept conditions)
[...]
Start:
2019/1/6: The project team started its effort in writing the first lines of code for a new software package in R for proliferating the use of Bayesian statistics starting with Bayesian network modeling. The package will also make use of MCMC JAGS and Stan (Hamiltonian).
The project can be found here: https://github.com/sshpa/baysvl

2018/11/1: We started internal discussions on possible development choices, drawing upon the lessons learned while waiting for our first publication using Hamiltonian MCMC with R and Stan to be officially published.
