1. Project description

1.1. Main objectives

The current study is conducted to examine the following research questions:

  • Examine how knowledge acquisition and knowledge dissemination are associated with academic staff’s job satisfaction and teaching motivation
  • Examine whether job satisfaction mediates the relationship between knowledge acquisition, knowledge dissemination and teaching motivation

1.2. Materials

The mindsponge theory will be used for conceptual development, and Bayesian Mindsponge Framework (BMF) analytics will be used for statistical analysis on a dataset of 676 academics in Vietnam [2-4]. The bayesvl package, aided by the Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithm, will be employed for statistical analyses [5]. For more information on BMF analytics, portal users can refer to the following book [6]. Data and code snippets of this initial analysis were deposited at: https://zenodo.org/records/11213426.

1.3. Main findings

The preliminary analysis shows that knowledge acquisition and dissemination are positively associated with academic staff’s teaching motivation. However, knowledge acquisition and knowledge dissemination also negatively moderate the relationship between them and teaching motivation (see Figure 1)
